Hello!
I hope business is good and that you are making the most of the days of spring weather we are having on and off.
Since I have to protect my delicate skin from the sun’s damaging rays, I take advantage of sunny days differently now. I take one or two hours in the day to work on my laptop or my iPad, outside on my patio under our new, enormous and magnificent parasol, or I use this time to work on any writing projects that I need to finish during the day. I find that changing locations and getting some fresh air and sunlight (even in the shade) is quite good for me. What do you do to shake things up and move around during your work day?
I have decided to start writing my newsletter again and sharing it with my clients and subscribers. I must admit that I’ve neglected to write and give you news for quite some time, but I feel an urge to share updates, tricks of the trade, spelling, grammar and translation rules and offer articles, links and/or other products from time to time. Keeping you in the loop, so to speak!
Please add your comments or answers to my questions. I am very interested to know what you think.
Writing/grammar tip
Mother’s Day
We recently thanked our moms for everything they do for us and soon will be doing the same for our dads. Why is the apostrophe after Mother in the expression Mother’s Day, and not after Mothers, which would include all mothers?
Anna Jarvis, the US woman who campaigned for the introduction of Mother’s Day wanted each family to remember their own mother rather than mothers generally.
